KARACHI: Two men received bullet injuries and one person was arrested after Rangers opened fire on them in Metroville area of SITE in Karachi late on Wednesday evening for allegedly not stopping at a picket, Express News reported.

According to initial reports, three men Saqib, Danish and Nadeem were riding a motorbike in Metrovile, Site. As they neared a Rangers picket, they were reportedly signaled to stop. When they did not stop, officers fired at them injuring two and allegedly arresting a third.

Rangers claimed that the men did not stop at the picket after being signaled to do so and had allegedly fired at the officers. Officials claimed they retaliated, injuring two of them.

The officers further claimed they had recovered a pistol from one of the injured men which contained six bullets.

The men were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed hospital for treatment.

Family members of Saqib and Nadeem, the two injured men, claimed that they worked in a factory. They added that the men had completed their shifts and were returning home. As they neared the Rangers picket, they could not see the officers signaling them to stop due to a truck obstructing their view.

Relatives of Danish, the third man, claimed that Rangers had arrested him. This claim was refuted by the Rangers.
